Savage sleep [3]

The absent rain left a note on my roof excusing itself. The following
evening, a sudden drought knocked on my door and imposed itself as both
my guest and my cook: hard tongue with red berry sauce on a bed of jasmine
rice. The way to disguise the roughness of his taste was to transpose my
saliva into dew.
